I also couldn’t find anything online about this other than two other people who said they resolved their issues. First I had an issue I recently solved regarding my mods, now this. Anyways, I don’t know why it all of a sudden giving me issues. Quick start: Run setup tool > Follow instructions > Close setup tool > Start game >. Do NOT share the binaries or shader files. In the game press either Shift+F2, Home or Pause and ReShade window should pop up on the left. For me it’s Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. Reshade 3.0 or 4.0 (depending on the version) will show a notification bar at the top. Use preset files (.ini) that can be created from ReShades in-game user interface to share your configurations. Plop the GGSBright.ini file into the folder where your Sims 4 game is located (TS4圆4.exe). Head over to your Origin Browser game and launch the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. :: CLEAR SUMMER - ReShade for TS4 by amoebae :: A new ReShade preset for The Sims 4, which aims to banish unsightly blue shadows, and generally make things feel clear and bright. It will ask you to now manually launch the game.

I’m also having a similar issue with 2 other games (from the same franchise) too but this will be one of the topics I’ll make as I don’t want to confuse anyone and stay on topic with the current game we’re trying to resolve. Launch Xenos.exe > Manual Launch > Select > Sims2EP9.exe. It worked on my laptop but now on my PC, it doesn’t seem to work at all. Whenever I launch it with Reshade (or just a d3d9.dll in my bin folder from a discovery with NinjaRipper), it seems to not get pass the activationui.exe and hangs there until I end it’s process in Task Manager. NEVER DELETE DEFAULT.I’m having an issue with The Sims 4 not launching hence the topic’s title. Uninstall: just go to Bin and delete the reshade-shaders folder, ReShade.ini, d3d9.dll and the **aaaamovie. For example, tick performance off, then you can play with the Filmic Pass sliders to make darker/brighter, or adjust the intensity of the Blur or the brightness of HDR, etc. You can try tweaking around with the sliders, and other effects on top. Other presets: most of the presets around for TS4 are not meant for gameplay, as they have heavy. fx effects in Github! I did not include some of the heaviest (depth, MXAO, AA), or the least useful ones.

Make your own: if your game is in ProgramFiles, you might have to right click your Bin folder, then go to Bin > Properties > Security tab then Edit and tick Full Control, so it lets Reshade create/modify the presets. If you are lagging you can try turning off Blur with 7 key (heaviest effect), or lower TS4 settings a bit.
