I’m glad it was so simple but I’m wondering why It worked so well on Mojave and so poorly on High Sierra. I did and in about 2 minutes, I was printing.
To the point of this thread’s topic, though, I set about to install the Canon Pixma860 printer, and to my amazement it worked just as advertised: I connected the printer via USB cable, turned the printer on, and immediately got a pop-up window asking if I would like to download and install software for the Canon Pixma860 printer. I hope I don’t need to enter passwords every time an update comes down the pike.
